The church has arrived

Well I guess the new church didn't arrive but we arrived at it. Here are some pictures from this week. Things are still changing everyday. I will try to keep you up to date. The fabric you see suspended in the Worship center is not there any longer. We never used it on a Sunday but we were trying some options with design.

What I like....

It seems as of late most of my blogs revolve around my kids. I don't see that changing anytime soon either. I have about 18 more years of our girls and my blogs about them.

Leah and I have been absolutely rotfl recently with Mckenna's communication. She is learning what she likes and doesn't like and can tells us in many awesome ways.

Mckenna has been on a ladybug kick recently. I'll ask her "Mckenna, do you like spiders?" "No" she says "I wike waidybugs!" "Mckenna, do you like Poopie?" "NO, I wike Waidybugs!" Always with an air of enthusiasm.

Right now everything for her is connected by what she likes and doesn't like. You ask her if she likes her food; "Yes and I wike waidybugs!"

Man she is over the top. Always making us laugh.

New Hairstyle

Addisons hair only grows long right on the top. This creates a kind of old man comb over resulting in somewhat of a "hitler" hairstyle.

I am sure you can see the similarities. So we tried to give our little girl a unique identity. The following is the result.

sorry if any formating errors occur.

New building

We are well on our way to getting into this building. Today we spent the majority of the day painting classrooms, bathrooms and the cafe. It is so great to see everyone working together to realize a common dream.

We purchased a commercial building shell and are finishing out the inside. The building is cut in half by the foyer that is 2 stories tall. To one side is the Worship Center (seats 350) and to the other is 2 stories of classrooms, offices and bathrooms. Connected to the foyer is a fully functioning cafe.

Hopefully you can make out what it will look like from these pictures.

The Walk

Our family really likes to take walks through our neighborhood. If the girls are kind of whiny then we go for a walk and all is better.

Last night Mckenna wanted to bring her own stroller with her own baby in it. So I pushed Addison in the big stroller and Mckenna pushed her baby in hers. Leah was pushing nothing.

Mckenna decided to run with her stroller. Yes, the inevitable did happen. She fell. But she was fine. So what did she do. She decided to cheat death once again (i think she gets this from me). Off she went running as fast as she could despite her mother and I warning her. And just like Leah and I had warned she wiped out pretty hardcore and cut up both of her thumbs that got caught under the stroller handle.

After the tears and the blood, we went home and got cleaned up. Two band-aids later and she says "all better daddy, see!" giving me two thumbs up. Now she is walking around like an Iguanodon. Thumbs protruding. She is dropping things because of the lack of an opposable thumb. She has taken an evolutionary step backwards. Poor kid.

There is your story for the day.

Saved by the Bell

I am watching the "where are they now" for Saved by the Bell. Holy cow. I wonder what would happen if I took this back in time and showed Zach Morris where he would be in 20 (yes 20) years. Would A.C. Slater thought dancing with the stars was so cool back then? Would Jesse have gone down the road she took?

Then I ask myself....Do I want to see my WATN from 20yrs in the future? Would I even believe what I would have become? Would it change the way I make decisions about my future?

I don't really want to cause a rip like that in the time space continuum so I wont watch it. But it does make me wonder what the next 20yrs holds. A wedding for my daughter? I moved to California recently....am I here in 20yrs. Where does God take us or does he take us. Hopefully Heaven.

My personal prayer is that Jesus comes back tomorrow.
1. I am tired
2. Mckenna can't possibly get any more cute so just stop now
3. I don't know if I can survive 2 weddings (look what it did to my in-laws)

Until he is back I will love and work and speak and lead.

Flying Today

Well we are waiting to get on the plane. Since last Thursday I have traveled A LOT. By the end of it all I will have covered 6,000 miles in the air and driven over 700 miles. Travel is fun and exhausting. Anytime you travel to a place the drive isn't near as bad as the way home. Nor is the flight our as long as the flight back (physically the flight to California will be longer because of the jet stream.....thanks a lot earth for spinning).

All things considered we had a great time and really enjoyed seeing my sister get married. We stayed in a nice little place with the rest of the family, courtesy of Mom and Steve...Thanks Guys. There was a pool in the back that wasn't that big but I am sure to Mckenna it was a mile (she's only two feet tall). I was at one side and she was at the other. She started to swim toward me but half way decided it was too far. she turned around and started to head back. When she turned around she noticed that I was just as far away as the steps. Being the Genius child that she is, she decided to keep going toward her dad.

My Life is a lot like this story and I am sure yours is too. I get halfway to a place and then I start to feel the pain of the swim (or journey) but the truth is it's just as far to take a step back as it is to take a step forward. Why not just finish the journey? God called us to it right?

Just some thoughts from a very very tired traveler trying to get home....
